Some things I’ve noticed since I’ve started working for myself/freelancing/skiving:
- The fact that there’s a giant apple tree outside my bedroom that I’ve never noticed before. And seriously it’s so huge it must have taken about ten years to grow. Never seen it before in my life.
- I don’t get to write about what I want, when I want because not everyone cares about what I want to write about when I want to write about it. At those times I blog to no one in particular.
- When employed full time there were days I didn’t feel particularly creative that would be spent organising, filing, twiddling and I’d still get paid. Now if I want to get paid I must be creative.
- All those things I never found time to do whilst working full time like going to the gym more, perhaps taking up a hobby, enjoying my own company… still not finding time.
- I find myself working more and when not working I find myself worrying about not working and thinking I should be working.
- Some of my ideas suck.
That’s it for now. I’ll add to it when I discover new things. For now here’s a brilliant cartoon from Dave Walker:
